RDNA in-home nursing services are essential for many elderly and medically vulnerable residents. For these neighbors, living beyond Covid has brought increased isolation, perseverance, and flexibility, and a dramatic rise in the cost of living. Within the health care system, this nursing resource is severely limited, if available, typically very costly. Most in-home services and visits are not eligible for Medicare/MaineCare and insurance benefits. In most Maine communities, residents are confronted with this basic necessary care simply being out of reach, or unavailable.
RDNA does not receive Medicare/Mainecare or insurance reimbursements, and is therefore also not eligible for federal and state health care funding for providers. Since RDNA is not restricted by these regulations, nurses are free to regularly visit without limitations on the number of visits or how long a client may receive services ~ a relationship typically lasting for years, with the same nurse.
Thank you for your commitment to community nursing!
