“Good old nursing” in the home
Community Nursing
RDNA provides non-acute, in-home nursing and community health services to residents in Rockland, Thomaston, South Thomaston, Owls Head, St. George, Warren, Cushing, and Union (limited). Nursing visits are made by licensed nursing professionals (Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses). Individuals, families, and health care providers are encouraged to contact the office for more information. A physician’s plan of care is required for nursing services. There is no limit on the duration of visits.

Nursing services include
- Medication management/pre-pours
- Pre-draw insulin syringes ~ Injections
- Foot care
- Blood draws
- Wound care (limited)
- Vital sign checks
- Nursing & health assessments
- O2 checks
- Catheter changes
- Community health/home instruction
Payment
RDNA does not accept Medicare/MaineCare, insurance or credit card payments for fees for service. Fees are kept as reasonable as possible thanks to enduring community support. Financial assistance is available.
In the community
During non-pandemic times, RDNA offers monthly blood pressure clinics in Thomaston and Rockland ~ free of charge to attendees. RDNA collaborates with area emergency management and supports law enforcement unwanted medication collections.
Our Nurses
RDNA nurses come with decades of nursing experience. Since 1929, district nursing has only survived with the careful passing on of skills and commitment from nursing generation to generation. We invite newer professionals to join us ~ carry on the traditions that are so deeply rooted in our community.
